New Kazakhstan Highway to Strengthen the China–Europe Transport Corridor

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has officially launched one of the country's largest infrastructure projects — the construction of the 800-kilometre Beineu–Saksaulsk highway. The project marks a major step in developing Kazakhstan's transport infrastructure and strengthening its role in international logistics.

According to the President, the new highway will improve connectivity between western and central Kazakhstan while becoming an important section of the international transport corridor linking China and Europe.

Once completed, the highway will directly connect the Chinese border crossings with the Aktau and Kuryk ports on the Caspian Sea. The new route is expected to shorten cargo transportation between China and Europe by approximately 1,000 kilometres and reduce delivery times by up to three days.

The development of transport corridors, modernization of the road network, and construction of new infrastructure remain among Kazakhstan's top national priorities.
