Messe Frankfurt expands its Central Asia portfolio with the launch of Bautrux Astana

Astana, June 10, 2026 — Messe Frankfurt, one of the world's largest exhibition organizers and headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is expanding its Central Asia portfolio with the launch of Bautrux Astana, a new international trade fair for construction machinery, specialized vehicles and construction technology. The exhibition will take place from June 9 to 11, 2027 at the International Exhibition Center EXPO in Astana, organized by Business Media Central Asia (BMCA), the official representative of Messe Frankfurt in the region.

Bautrux Astana succeeds Eurasian Construction Technology Astana (ECT), held in Astana since 2025. Both Bautrux Astana and Comtrux Astana run side by side at IEC EXPO Astana, giving exhibitors and visitors a single venue that covers construction, transport and infrastructure end to end.

The 2026 edition, held under the ECT brand, demonstrated the platform’s continued growth. Across an exhibition area of 8,963 m², 147 exhibitors presented their products and solutions to 2,786 trade visitors, with participants from 22 countries in total.

The launch comes as Kazakhstan's construction sector enters a phase of sharp expansion. Output in the sector grew by 14.8% in the first quarter of 2026, supported by large-scale public investment in housing, transport infrastructure and industrial facilities. The wider economy now exceeds USD 300 billion, and cargo across the Middle Corridor between China and Europe has grown more than fivefold since 2021.

Michael Johannes, Vice President Mobility & Logistics at Messe Frankfurt GmbH, on the launch:

“With Bautrux Astana, we are bringing construction machinery and equipment into the same internationally consistent portfolio approach we have established for Comtrux and Automechanika. Kazakhstan continues to position itself at the heart of the Middle Corridor, and the country's sustained investment in housing, transport infrastructure and industrial construction makes Astana the natural home for a dedicated international platform of this scale. For Messe Frankfurt it is a great honor to support this development hand in hand with the government, the industry and our international partners.”

Anuar Malik, CEO of Business Media Central Asia, added:

“With Bautrux Astana, we are giving the construction sector a brand that reflects where this region now stands. Central Asia, and Kazakhstan in particular, has become one of the most active construction and infrastructure markets on the continent, and the international supplier community deserves a platform that meets it at that level. Under the Messe Frankfurt license, the launch of Bautrux is another deliberate step in building out a portfolio in Astana that international companies can rely on, year after year, to do real business with the entire region.”
